As the annual leading industrial events in Asia-Pacific region, PTC ASIA, ComVac ASIA, CeMAT ASIA, HEAVY MACHINERY ASIA and Industrial Supply ASIA 2014 successfully closed on 30 October at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre. The four-day events for fluid power transmission, compressed air and vacuum, intralogistics and supply chain, heavy machinery, industrial subcontracting and lightweight construction once again won the market trust with full-aspects success in terms of participants, exhibition area and services, consolidating their leading positions in Asia and world. This year total 2,013 exhibitors presented their cutting-edge products and technologies on an overall display area of 139,500 sqm. 73,079 trade visitors from over 80 countries and regions came and talked on the show.


Mr. Wolfgang Pech, senior vice president of Deutsche Messe AG was quite satisfied with the show result and said, “We witness the industry development and keep up with the trend. Concentrating on the market demand, we are dedicated to penetrating the theme of ‘Smart Manufacturing and Energy Efficiency’ though our combined exhibitions which deliver right solutions and application system for all the sectors. Obviously, most of the exhibitors continue to invest at our shows for maintaining their competitiveness even during the economy downturn. This is a very positive sign.” It’s no doubt that all the participating companies have regarded PTC ASIA, ComVac ASIA, CeMAT ASIA and the other concurrent fairs as the market leads and represented by their CEOs on the site for company branding and promoting, Pech added.


With two decades development, PTC ASIA this year attracted 1,208 notable exhibitors including several new market leaders and representatives with a total display area of 80,500 sqm. Themed with “Smart Manufacturing, Energy Efficiency and Environmental Protection”, companies from China, Germany, Italy, Turkey, South Korea and China Taiwan all introduced their advanced equipment and components to echo the slogan. More and more industrial giants are marching on this road to become integrated and efficient in their production.


The mechanical transmission sector of PTC ASIA continued to grow in scale this year with the attendance from such big names in the field as SIEMENS, ABB, BONFIGLIOLI, NORD, LENZE and Emerson. The well-known name of NORD, LENZE and Italian transmission equipment manufacturing TRANSTECNO premiered the new generation of gear box, which have enormous market potentials with more accurate and flexible performance. The hydraulics, pneumatics and sealing area of the fluid power sector have gathered several hundreds of well-known enterprises. NOK, Argo Hytos, KASTASU, Tokyo Keiki, Stauff, Chelic, CKD, CONVUM, Keda, Sunbun, Leemin, Youweili and Yuci Hydraulics Pavilion all bring their automatic and intelligent products as well as innovative technologies. STAUFF has grandly launched DIN fittings product line to interpret the connotation of creativity with self-dependent technology and German-made manufacturing.


ComVac ASIA 2014 has achieved an over 20% increase in terms of the scale, boasting 13,500sqm. 148 exhibitors from Sweden, Germany, the US, Canada, South Korea and China Taiwan gathered together to present the entire supply chain of the compressor and vacuum industry, ranging from complete equipment, main equipment, post-processing, spare parts and lubricants. The leading companies of Ingersoll Rand, KOBELCO, HITACHI, BAUER, Bosch Rexroth, Bumatec, Zhigao, Kaishan, Fusheng, Hanbell and Jaguar all reflected their pleasant stay as well as generated more business leads.


As the benchmark in intralogistics and supply chain industry held annually in the Asia-Pacific region, CeMAT ASIA this year attracted 490 leading logistic enterprises such as Heli, Jungheinrich, Crown, VITA-WHEEL, BYD, Goodsense, Daifuku, Swisslog, TGW, Beijing Materials Handling Research Institute, Beijing Research Institute of Automation for Machinery Industry, China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation, NTI, Formosa, KENMEC and Siasun gathering in a display area of 40,000 sqm. Forklift industry giants including Jungheinrich, Heli, Crown, VITA-WHEEL, Goodsense, BYD, Ruyi have gathered in Hall W1 with various flagship products. Jungheinrich has displayed several key products including forklifts VNA, UPC and the most advanced unmanned automatic pallet truck APM, building brand advantage with advanced technology concept and strict manufacturing process. Mr. Hans-Georg Frey, Chairman of the Board of Management told the organizer, “We have participated in CeMAT ASIA for years and very happy to see the market leaders here. Our automatic forklift presented on the show can well reflect the development and market demand of the logistic equipment. We are requested by a dozen of meetings from our clients and very satisfied with the show. ” In addition, Heli has displayed a total of seven new forklift models, leading the new energy forklift trend of intelligent innovation and low-carbon environmental protection. Except eight flagship products, Goodsense also shows a 48-ton engine balance forklift, catching many visitors’ eyes on site.


Vicki Chen, Marketing Manager Asia/Pacific of Swisslog (Shanghai) Co., Ltd also thumbed up the show and stated,”Swisslog’s intralogistics portfolio Click&Pick for e-commerce contains flexible technology such as the unique bin storage and item picking system AutoStore and the mobile storage and goods-to-person system CarryPick. Both technologies have attracted lots of visitors at CeMAT ASIA which met our expectation being a very valuable platform to get in touch with new contacts and existing customers. We feel satisfied having been able to explain successfully our competence of develop, design and deliver, design and deliver automated intralogistics solutions to the market.”


Besides the traditional logistics exhibits, this year’s CeMAT ASIA fully interpreted the theme and introduced a special display area for “Logistics Robots”. With the increase of labor costs in recent years, many domestic manufacturers have put forward the concept of "unmanned robots”, building the Chinese-made robot brand. During the show, many industrial robots companies including Siasun, Triowin, Himan and Dalian Jialin all showcase with large booths, which featured industrial robot solutions for materials handling, warehousing automation, transportation and sorting in distribution centers, and automation packaging in factories. Siasun showcases DELTA robot and accessories with high speed, high precision and strong rigidity which are widely used in packaging, material sorting, handling and assembly, and other fields.


Alongside PTC ASIA, ComVac ASIA and CeMAT ASIA, HEAVY MACHINERY ASIA 2014 welcomed 100 exhibitors in a display area of 4,000 sqm, and Industrial Supply ASIA which echoes the growing demand of industrial outsourcing also staged simultaneously at SNIEC to put up an interactive platform along the industrial chain.


Meanwhile, nearly 20 professional forums and workshops have been held during the show During PTC ASIA 2014, Hydraulic Piping Systems Forum, the third Gear Technology Seminar, the second CNC Machine Tool Precision Transmission Technology Seminar and 2014 Market Demand Forecasting Forum of Chinese Oil and Gas Drilling Equipment are concurrently held with the attention and participation of the whole industry. Besides, “CeMAT ASIA Innovation Salon” is also one of the biggest highlights. The four-day session is carried out around six hot topics on the industry. With the popularity of e-commerce, the organizers invited well-known guests from JD.com, Gome online, DHL and CNSS to share their stories behind e-commerce to exhibitors, visitors, buyers and all industry professionals. About 100 invited buyer delegations from the nationwide made their way to the exhibitions which boosted a lot of business talks and order intentions in which PTC ASIA has attracted more than 80 buyer groups on site covering industry sectors such as petroleum and petrochemical industries, engineering machinery, machine tools, textiles, aerospace, automotive, pharmaceutical and refrigeration technology. At the same time, the application of all kinds of new media such as WeChat, Microblog and mobile apps had provided live coverage of the exhibitions, continuously expanding the exhibition influence and deepening authoritative industry position.
